After being deleted by Tumblr for posting informational true crime content I made the decision to move to WordPress. This blog is about Australian serial killer Ivan Milat, also known as The Backpacker Killer. The objective of this blog is to gain a better understanding of Ivan Milat himself, through the case, his family, his friends and any people who knew him. I’m all about facts and if I give my personal opinion on a matter or speculate about something, you’ll know it.
Why Ivan Milat? As well as being a true crime buff, I’m also a big horror movies fan! A few years ago I watched the horror movie Wolf Creek, starring Australian actor, John Jarratt and as I always do when I love a movie I check out more about it and how it was supposedly inspired by a “real story”. That’s how I found out it was partially inspired by the The Backpacker Murders and his perpetrator, Ivan Milat. Being the true crime buff I was, I had to find out more about this man and the murders and that’s how I fall in a new rabbit hole (like I had not enough work with Ted Bundy already….).
Ivan Milat, also known as The Backpacker Killer, was a serial killer convicted for the 7 murders of backpackers. All of the bodies were found between September 19, 1991 and November 4, 1993 in the Belanglo State Forest, in New South Wales, Australia.
