Ivan Milat cross-examination by the Crown prosecutor, Mr. Mark Tedeschi on June 20, 1996 :
I suggest to you that you disposed of Mr James Gibson’s gear in the Galston Gorge and that you knew that area?
IM : I never disposed of nothing and I don’t really know that area.
I suggest to you that you took Deborah Everist’s property and that that’s how her sleeping bag came to be in your home?
IM : I never took nothing of hers and I don’t know nothing about her stuff at our place.
I suggest to you that you gave her backpack to your sister-in-law, Joan, knowing that the real owner of that backpack was deceased?
IM : I had no idea at that time that she owned that backpack.
Concerning the murders of Gabor Neugebauer and Anja Habschied, I suggest you killed them alone or in company?
IM : I know nothing about the deaths of them people.
And that you used, or someone with you used, both a Ruger 10/22 and the Anschutz rifle that was found in the alcove at that scene or nearby?
IM : I don’t know nothing about what you are talking about.
And the Ruger that was used… was the Ruger, parts which were found in you wall cavity?
IM : I’ve no idea anything about it at all.
That you used rags for gags or blindfolds?
IM : Wrong.
In relation to the deaths of Caroline Clarke and Joanne Walters, I suggest that you killed them…?
IM : Wrong Again.
And that at that scene you, or someone with you, used the same Ruger to murder Caroline Clarke?
IM : I never did.
And that you were responsible for all of the items…from the deceased backpackers being found in the locations they were found in by the police?
IM : No.
